Matt Antoine, winner of the bronze medal in men's Skeleton at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, began his quest here at Your Personal Best. Matt did a 3 month program to increase strength, speed, power and overall athleticism with a goal of being accepted at a camp in Lake Placid for the sport of Skeleton. Only athletes who proved themselves to be in top condition and showing potential were accepted.
Not only was he accepted, he went on to compete in the National championships in his first year. Matt's peristence paid off as he continued to train and compete as a member of Team USA, rising up the ranks until he ultimately made the Olympic team and became an Olympic medalist in 2014.
Congratulations Matt!

Athlete Testimonials and Success Stories
Qualifying for the Boston Marathon was the ultimate challenge for me. This was a goal I wanted to embrace wholeheartedly. I had books that described how to increase race times. I downloaded on line training plans that detailed how to customize the “perfect” plan for me. I quickly became overwhelmed with all the calculations surrounding “splits”, intervals and speed work. Coupled with all the specifics regarding hill training, heart rates, recovery and otherwise, preparing and qualifying for Boston started to sound incredibly complicated.
I came to the conclusion that I wanted to do what I did best --- RUN. At the same time, I needed to take all the guesswork out of my training schedule. I decided to work with Moe, knowing that his years of expertise, marathon running and first hand race experience would help me achieve my goal.
I wasn’t disappointed! Based on the qualifying marathon I had selected to run, Moe designed a personalized training plan for me. When needed, he modified my schedule. We ran together to ensure I was at the proper pace and peaking at the appropriate time. He provided supplement suggestions and finalized my training schedule with a pre-race carb loading plan.
I have never felt as comfortable or prepared for a marathon. I savored every mile of the 26.2 experience and shaved 24 minutes off my PR. I qualified for Boston. Mission accomplished! Working with Moe allowed me to enjoy every step of my marathon journey.

As a professional climber of 20 years, I maintain my edge and avoid injury by training constantly. Moe Brown at Your Personal Best customizes my training regimen to suit my demanding climbing needs, giving me the confidence I need to go for it.
I was finding it difficult to balance training and work and was tired of the basic gym routine. I chose to train for the CRASH-B's, an indoor rowing event held in Boston each February, as a way to hopefully regain the fitness level that I had sustained as a college athlete. After conducting research on several local fitness facilities, Your Personal Best stood out. I signed up for the one year "Lifestyle" program.
There were many qualities which I sought in a trainer, but most importantly I wanted someone who was as committed to my goals as I was and who had the exercise physiology knowledge and background to design a program that would effectively challenge me. I started my program with an average "weekend warrior" recreational level of fitness and sought to improve aerobic capacity, anaerobic capacity, strength, flexibility, core strength, power, explosiveness and race day performance. My expectations were exceeded in all measures.
A program was designed that incorporated all of my fitness goals and more. I was introduced to the concept of periodization in training and had both micro-cycles and macro-cycles devised that steadily increased my fitness level without overtraining. Over the course of the program I significantly increased my lean body mass, lactate threshold, and VO2 max, and on race day I posted a personal best. Through it all Moe demonstrated a consistent high level commitment to excellence.
I would recommend Your Personal Best to anyone seeking to improve their health for the long term, whether in the context of pursuing an athletic goal or for general fitness purposes.

A testimony to the work Moe does... Due to injuries from a car accident the struggle for me is unreal. I started working with Moe in January of 2016 to prepare for the unplugged half marathon in April. I had many setbacks but with Moe’s help pushed through them. On April 9th I ran 13.1, thank you Moe for your help dealing with all my issues and struggles.

On October 5th of 2008 I ran a half marathon personal record time of 1:59. Ten years later I came to Moe at Your Personal Best primarily to improve my fitness, but I also had a goal of breaking 2 hours in a half marathon, which I hadn’t done since setting my PR. I expected it might take multiple attempts since my running frequency had been inconsistent for several years. I was absolutely thrilled when after just a few months of structured training, I not only crushed 2 hours on my first attempt, but also set a new PR of 1:58 . Thank you a million times Moe for your coaching and guidance!! Achieving this goal has been life changing.
